The Warren County Cancer Coalition is committed to establishing and maintaining community wide involvement in the planning, coordinating, and implementation of cancer focused initiatives. These initiatives are achieved through partnerships between local health care providers, human service organizations, churches, worksites, schools, civic/community groups, cancer survivors, and other interested parties.

Goals of the Warren County Cancer Coalition

Goal #1
To reach out to the local community and provide cancer prevention education to residents of Warren County. Outreach efforts will include participation from local churches, schools, and worksites.

  • Objective 1.1:
    To provide a minimum of 50 cancer outreach activities reaching at least 1,500 county residents through a coordinated effort with churches, schools, worksites, and other organizations/groups throughout Warren County in the 2008-09 fiscal year.
  • Objective 1.2:
    To provide cancer education to a minimum of 8 Hispanic and/or faith based organizations in the 2008-09 fiscal year.
  • Objective 1.3:
    Complete at least one new cancer related project by the end of the grant year in accordance with the Attachment C agreement between The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and NORWESCAP.

Goal # 2:
To inform county residents of cancer screening opportunities throughout their local communities. Through the NJCEED Program, free cancer screenings will be provided to county residents who qualify.

  • Objective 2.1:
    Provide information and referral in order to increase the number of prostate screenings through the Warren County CEED Program by 10% in the 2008-09 fiscal year.

Goal # 3:
To maintain current membership of the cancer coalition, and increase participation of local stakeholders as we implement cancer prevention initiatives throughout Warren County.

  • Objective 3.1:
    Maintain an average attendance of 12 coalition members per meeting by providing a featured speaker or activity for each quarterly meeting.
  • Objective 3.2:
    Recruit 1-2 new members per quarter for a total of 4-6 new members that will be active in the Warren County Cancer Coalition.

Goal # 4:
To provide web-based cancer health literacy through the Warren County Cancer Coalition Website.

  • Objective 4.1:
    To provide an online clearinghouse for coalition and community members for all cancer education and screening initiatives within Warren County by the end of the fiscal year.
  • Objective 4.2:
    To provide a directory of all cancer screenings facilities/providers within Warren County by the end of the fiscal year.
